Gilbert Brown


Gilbert Brown has worked for the Southwest Louisiana AIDS Council off and on for the last 10 years.  He is a graduate of the Southwestern Christian College in Terrell Texas and a student currently at Grand Canyon University of Arizona. Gilbert has been a minister for the last 7 years. He loves dealing with people in his spare time. He loves to sing and mentor people of all ages, praying for all and educating people concerning the word of God. He is an advocate at heart, loving to educate the people about HIV and STD’s.

Gilbert started off as a peer HIV education trainer teacher / prevention worker and has been working in the field ever since. Currently Gilbert is a Health System Navigator for the AIDS Council located in Lake Charles, La. Gilbert is working currently as the Advocate at Large for the Louisiana AIDS Advocacy Network.  Gilbert’s desire is to help end the epidemic by bringing awareness throughout the state of Louisiana.
